John was an abject person

John had just finishes his school and was on his way back. He accidentally bump into an old woman whom had fell on the floor. John pretends that he didn't realize and walks away with his ear piece on his ear. Many deem that he was an abject person for not helping her up. He knows about these rumors and he wouldn't care about it. He ignores everything that people talked about him and continues with his own leisure activities. It was winter, he wasn't at home when the news reported on a snow storm. He got caught in it and was trapped beneath the ice. The old woman whom he refuse to help saw the whole thing and came out just a minute after the storms subside. She uses every ounce of her strength to help John and John was being rescued as the passerby called the ambulance and the police. However, the old woman collapses as soon as John was rescued. Both of them were sent to the hospital. It was Christmas when John woke up and found that the old woman who saves his life died of cold. The doctor said that it was impossible for a young man to withstand the cold, not to mention an old woman. John cried and imagine how he had abandon the old woman on the street. He imagined how the old woman was unable to celebrate the Christmas with her family. Therefore, he had decided that every Christmas, he would went out of his way to help people that are in needs even though it's cold and freezing.
