Assault and Robbery Revealed
It was a day in a court where justice always seems to prevail in the end. The crowd wasn't big as this was just another regular case that you could sees everyday. The defendant's lawyer stood up and faces the judge.
"As in the paper, I understand that my client was being charged with the attempt of assault and robbery. But according to my client, there wasn't any robbery involved. In fact, my client was defending himself from an assault." The defendant's lawyer said.
"That's a lie. He assaulted and attempted to robbed me." The plaintiff shouted.
"Silence, plaintiff, please continue with your statement defendant's lawyer." The Judge warned.
"Judge, this is the picture that was being captured and it's clearly shows that my client has been assaulted by the plaintiff with her handbag." The defendant pointed to the picture shown on the screen.
"Thank you, you may sit down. Plaintiff's lawyer, please provide your statement on this." The judge given the hand signal to the plaintiff's lawyer.
"Thank you judge." He walks to the judge and handed a CD to the judge then faces the crowd.
"This is the video captured by the CCTV and you could see the defendant enters the premise looking suspiciously. He saw the plaintiff then he keeps looked at his surrounding which there were no one was around. After a while, he pushes the plaintiff down on the floor and starts to threaten and punches the plaintiff. Then the defendant lands his hands on the plaintiff's handbag and attempt to pull it away from her. Plaintiff resist and kicked defendant onto the floor and starts to defends herself by swinging her handbag at the defendant and the plaintiff quickly flee the scene. This is clearly an act of self defense against an assault and robbery. The plaintiff's lawyer submitted his statement.
The court session ended with the defendant being charged as an act of assault and robbery and will be jailed. Justice had been served in the court and the defendant was escorted by the guards to the lockup.
